Generally Cinematographer 'Santhosh Sivan' wont take up Mass commercial flicks, but he has taken up 'Thuppaki' and his work in this movie is astounding!

Story of Thuppaki

Thuppaki will be like Sherlock Holmes. Vijay's investigation scenes will be highlight of the movie and A.R.Murugadoss going to handle it with a new type of Screenplay.

Thuppaki is a quick project and the shooting is carried out every day and night continuously.But the team has now taken a break due to Nanban.Even  though its a quckie it will rich in technical aspects and screenplay would be differently treated by AR Murugadoss.If everything goes as scheduled then Thuppaki will be a treat for fans on Tamil new year day!

To be precise, the film’s story is Thuppakki (Gun) and I am just a bullet. I am so happy about joining hands with A.R. Murugadoss, Santhosh Sivan and Harris Jayaraj.

With Thuppakki, Murugadoss teams up with Ilayathalapathy Vijay for the first time and he is currently busy filming for this high action entertainer. The movie is set in Mumbai and the unit shot the first schedule there, with Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal taking part. Right from the Tamil Ghajini to the recent 7 Aum Arivu, it has always been Antony who edited Murugadoss' films. Known for his high tech editing, Antony is much sought-after by most of the Gen Y directors like Gautham Menon and A.L. Vijay. Now, Murugadoss is shifting loyalties and instead of Antony, he is to use the services of veteran editor Sreekar Prasad (Mani Ratnam's favourite) for Thuppakki. This has raised many eyebrows. Inside sources inform us that Antony had a major tiff with Murugadoss while editing for 7 Aum Arivu. Reportedly, creative dif ferences cropped up between the two and the first thing the ace filmmaker did when he announced Thuppakki was to replace him with Sreekar Prasad.

Jai to play Vijay's brother

Jai is one actor whose stock has gone up considerably in the industry post Engeyum Eppothum. He has signed up for many interesting films and the latest is that he has been approached by AR Murugadoss, one of the producers of Engeyum Eppothum to play Vijay's brother in Thuppaki.

It will be recalled that Jai started out by playing Vijay's brother in the film Bhagawathi. He has come a long way since then but apparently, Jai is happy to be approached for Thuppaki as he has an author backed role in this film and is very likely to join the team which includes Kajal Agarwal and Sathyan. An official announcement is expected soon.

Will Thuppakki be Vijay's most stylish movie

Ilayathalapathy Vijay will be known as “style king” after the release of AR Murgadoss directed Thuppakki. 

Producer Kalaipuli S Dhanu is blowing up big money to make it look grand and stylish. The shoot of the film is going on in Mumbai.

Vijay will be playing as an encounter specialist in the film with Kajal Aggarwal playing his lady love. Jai is acting as his younger brother. Jayaram character has shades of grey, while Sathyan will bring the house down with his comedy.

Harris Jayaraj has already recorded a song for the film sung by Vijay which is said to be a peppy fast number. AR Murgadoss the director of the film has dropped two of his regular’s art director Rajeevan and editor Antony and gone for veterans with a proven track record.

Murgadoss has roped in national award winning production designer the legendary Thotta Tharani and the wizard editing Sreekar Prasad for Thuppakki. Murgadoss wants the richness in production and sharpness in editing to be highlighted by the masters.
