Rajinikanth's Kochadaiyaan: India's first 3 D motion picture

Steven Spielberg's 'The Adventures of Tintin' was a different film due to the latest 3 D techniques used in it. The use of this technique made the animated characters look more vivid and closer to reality. The Indian film industry doesn't lag far behind than Hollywood when it comes to using modern age technologies, and who could be better than Rajinikanth to start a new trend.
If media reports are to be believed then his forthcoming film 'Kochadaiyaan' is using the same technique as Spielberg used in 'Tintin'. Known as motion capture or motion tracking, this technique first records the movement of the object before translating it into the digital mode.
Used in various fields for recreating the situations, 'mocap' method first captures the movement of a real actor in different circumstances before putting the acquired properties in an animated character. This provides the character a clear cut dimension and well defined action path.
Actor Rajinikanth and his family have become a brand in the film industry
Not only this, it also helps in creating a virtual camera which will pan, tilt or dolly as per the character's need.
Soundarya, the director of 'Kochadaiyaan' is well versed with different animation techniques and her short film 'Sultan: The warrior Prince' was a fine example of it, where she had amalgamated many animation softwares.
Having a technically sound person behind the Dictaphone will help in achieving a life-like animation in 'Kochadaiyaan'.

Rajinikanth-Kamal Hassan teaming up news turn false

The news on Rajinikanth-Kamal Hassan teaming up again with Marudhanayagam, which was on cold storage for over a decade, has turned out to be a baseless speculation. The Universal Star's PRO has clarified that the actor is not planning to revive the 15-year-old movie.

The PRO, who is active on Twitter, wrote, “The news about Rajinikanth starring in Marudhanayagam is false, its an 15 year old news. Kamal sir haven't spoken anything about this recently.” Currently, the actor is busy shooting his forthcoming movie Vishwaroobham in Mumbai.

Post Vishwaroobham, Kamal Hassan will start Thalaivan Irukinran to be reportedly directed by Shankar. “After Vishwaroobham, Kamal sir is doing Thalaivan Irukinran for Oscar films..Now he is busy shooting at Mumbai for Vishwaroobham.”

Earlier, it was said that Kamal Hassan was keen to complete his long-pending Marudhanayagam, which was started in 1997 before dropping midway due to financial constraints. The actor wanted to cast Rajinikanth in an important role.

Why Sneha walked out of Rajinikanth's Kochadaiyaan?

Actress Sneha surprised many after she walked out of Rajinikanth starrer Kochadaiyaan recently. The industry believed that she might have opted out because of her marriage plans. However, it seems to be far from the truth, as we hear that the 31-year-old decided to quit the movie due to date issues.

If the latest reports are to be believed, Sneha's other commitments made her to turn down the offer. It is said that Sneha had agreed to be a part of an event in Australia and she got a call from there when she was supposed to start Kochadaiyaan.

The actress is reportedly disappointed for missing out an opportunity to work with Rajinikanth. As her hands were tied, Sneha did not have a choice to make, add reports. Meanwhile, danseuse and actress Rukmini Vijaykumar has replaced her to play an important role in Kochadaiyaan, which also features Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Aadhi, Sarath Kumar and others.

The legend that is Rajinikanth needs 80 cameras

The makers of Kochadaiyaan have upped the ante by using the technology last employed by Steven Spielberg for The Adventures of Tintin. And for the Superstar, more is definitely not enough!

Making a film which stars Rajinikanth is probably one of the biggest challenges any filmmaker could face. If his legendary awesomeness doesn’t translate on to the big screen, the makers will be mobbed and lynched. This time around, his daughter, Soundarya has taken charge and she will ensure that Kochadaiyaan will do complete justice to her father’s towering stature.
In a regular big budget film, the maximum number of cameras used for shooting a scene barely touches ten, but for Rajini’s Kochadaiyaan, 80 cameras will be used to soak up his charismatic moves. In a recent interview the co-producer of Kochadaiyaan Dr Murli Manohar said, “Rajinikanth, dressed in a body suit, will perform while 80 cameras capture his every move. The idea is to enhance his performance, and construct visuals for a period piece that can’t be created otherwise.”
Kochadaiyaan is the first Indian film to use Motion Capture technology (MOCAP). The technique combines human actors with computer-generated animation. It basically means that what Rajini’s fans will actually see on screen will be an animated version of the Superstar, but he will be doing all the stunts himself and these will be captured by those 80 cameras and then digitally replaced by the animation equipment.
The makers have taken on this ambitious project with the help of the biggest and best brains in the business from Hollywood. This is a moment of pride for all Rajini fans and will only further his legend as the biggest star of our times. This makes Bollywood celebs pale in comparison. Yes, even Shahrukh Khan with his ambitious special effects and Salman Khan with his astonishingly consistent box office takings.
Can anyone in B-town match up to the legend of Rajinikanth?
